India batter Virat Kohli was the face saver for the Men in Blue as they lost to Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 super 4s stage on September 4. India will now have to win both of their remaining games to remain in contention for the finals.

Virat Kohli had made 60 in 44 balls as India posted 181/7 in 20 overs. Openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul (28 runs each) had scored 54 in 5.1 overs but Pakistani bowlers kept the batters in check as wickets fell regularly. But Kohli batted right till the last over to help India put up a defendable total.

Then Mohammad Rizwan (71) and Mohammad Nawaz (42) blasted the Indian bowlers in middle overs and then the finishers got Pakistan to target in the last over in a tightly fought contest with 5 wickets in hand.

Asia Cup 2022: ’Never cared about criticism; found excitement for game back during the break’- Virat Kohli

A fan noticed something special done by Virat Kohli during his knock as he showed great game awareness despite concentrating on the bowler.

During the eighth over of the innings, Kohli was preparing to face Mohammad Nawaz; however, right before the delivery, wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan made a slight fielding adjustment on the off-side.

While Kohli was focused on the delivery, the change in field setting didn't go amiss from the batter's vision as he gave a side-eye to check the movements on the off-side.

India will next play Sri Lanka on Sept 6 and Afghanistan on Sept 8 and need to win both games to make it into the finals of the tournament.
