Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav treated his fans with his mind-blowing batting in their recent Asia Cup 2022 Group A match against Hong Kong on August 31 in Dubai. He amassed 26 runs in the final over with the help of four sixes to take his tally to 68* off just 26 balls to help India beat Hong Kong by 40 runs.

He also shared an unbeaten 98-run partnership with Virat Kohli, who was also in good form with the bat, scoring 59* off 44 balls against Hong Kong to boost his confidence.

Reacting to Suryakumar’s blistering innings against Hong Kong, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi said that he turned on the TV to watch Kohli’s bat, but he was taken aback by the latter’s breathtaking display.

The legendary all-rounder said this inning will boost Kohli’s confidence going forward.

Shahid Afridi said on Samaa TV:Yes I saw it in the limited time I got. I sat to watch Virat's batting. He was playing slowly as he knew how important this innings was for him. It opposition doesn't matter. It will always give you confidence if you score runs.

So he was playing like that but when Suryakumar came in, he hit his first ball for four, then the second ball for four, and came in with a license to attack everything.”

Afridi also lauded Suryakumar's body language and said the right-hander was confident even when he was taking singles against Hong Kong.

He signed off by saying, “Body language is very important. You should appear confident even when you are taking a single, defending the ball or hitting a six. And the confidence he showed while hitting those big shots was superb. He entertained the crowd.”

There is a possibility of an India playing Pakistan again on Sunday if the Babar Azam-led side beats Hong Kong on Friday to advance to the Super 4 stage of Asia Cup 2022.
