Hong Kong suffered a heavy defeat to India in Match 4 of Asia Cup 2022 in Dubai on Wednesday, August 31, but it was still a fruitful match for the associate team as they fought admirably despite the vast gap in experience, quality and resources of both the teams.

Hong Kong skipper Nizakat Khan won the toss and chose to bowl first and India were in quite a bit of strife at 94/2 in 13 overs with the captain Rohit Sharma and vice-captain KL Rahul back in the pavilion, before Virat Kohli (59*) and Suryakumar Yadav (68*) put on 98* in 7 overs to help India end their innings at 192/2.

Babar Hayat (41), Kinchit Shah (30) and Zeeshan Ali (26*) put up a fight with the bat as Hong Kong batted their 20 overs to lose only five wickets while scoring 152 runs as India won by 40 runs to progress to the Super-4 stage of the tournament.

26-year-old all-rounder Kinchit Shah, who has played 10 ODIs and 44 T20Is for Hong Kong, made the occasion extra special for himself as he proposed to his girlfriend at the stadium after the match. His proposal was accepted as well as the young couple hugged and celebrated the moment together.
