Asia Cup 2022: Anushka Sharma all heart after Virat Kohli's 59* against Hong Kong

India booked their place in the Super-4 stage of the Asia Cup 2022 with a clinical 40-run win over Hong Kong in Dubai on Wednesday (August 31). Though the associates fought valiantly, the experience and quality of the Indian team eventually prevailed.

Hong Kong skipper Nizakat Khan won the toss and elected to bowl first as India rested Hardik Pandya with Rishabh Pant coming in. Rohit Sharma (21) and KL Rahul (36) spent some valuable time in the middle before falling in search of quick runs.

Virat Kohli (59*) and Suryakumar Yadav (68*) added an unbroken 98-run partnership in 42 balls to help India finish with an imposing total of 192/2. The latter was especially sensational as he struck 6 fours and 6 sixes in his 26-ball knock.

Kohli, who has been searching for form in recent times in all formats, took a while to get going before eventually finding some of his touch back in the later half of his innings to register his 31st score of 50 or more in T20I cricket for India.

He struck one four and three sixes in his 44-ball 59* and his fans will hope this innings will spark off magical things in the bigger games to follow.

His wife, Anushka Sharma, who is currently filming Jhulan Goswami's biopic in London, reacted to the innings with a heart emoji on her Instagram stories.

Virat tweeted after the game, “Good win today. A special knock by SKY. We'll keep going.”
