Indian team kick-started their campaign in the Asia Cup 2022 with a 5-wicket win over Pakistan in Dubai. It was a top-notch performance as they held their nerves better in the crucial stages and bagged a win in the high-pressure game. 

Ahead of the game, Indian management surprised many when skipper Rohit Sharma announced at the time of the toss that Rishabh Pant failed to make the cut into the XI as they gave a nod ahead to Dinesh Karthik. 

This decision had mixed reactions with few in favour and many against it. With India set to face Hong Kong in their next match, there are still a lot of speculations about the availability of the southpaw and questions are still hogging the headlines about why the young keeper batter was benched.

Ahead of India’s clash against Hong Kong, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was asked about the same. However, he tackled the question with his wit and hilariously said: "I absolutely don't know this. This is a question out of my book.”

India can look to give Rishabh Pant a chance in the match against Hong Kong. But with the skipper clearly mentioning that the southpaw missed out due to Karthik’s availability, it’s almost certain who the management is giving preference to as the first-choice wicketkeeper.
