It was a special match for Kohli as he now became the first Indian cricketer and second overall, after New Zealand great Ross Taylor, to play 100 matches in all three formats of the game.

Kohli, who has played 102 Tests and 262 ODIs as well, made his T20I debut for India against Zimbabwe on June 12, 2010 and has scored a total of 3343 runs at an average of 49.89 till date.

On completing the unique milestone, Kohli received a congratulatory message from Ross Taylor, who represented New Zealand in 112 Tests, 236 ODIs and 102 T20Is before retiring from international cricket earlier this year.

Taking to Instagram, Taylor shared some of his memorable pictures with Kohli and wrote: “Congratulations @virat.kohli on your 100th T20 game for India. Welcome to the club. I look forward to watching many more of your games in the years to come!”

Kohli was quick to respond as he wrote: “Thanks Rosco. Some vintage pictures in there. Hope you and the family are well my man.”

On his 100th T20I, Virat Kohli made his presence felt with the bat. Chasing the target of 148, India lost KL Rahul for a first-ball duck and it was then Kohli shared a 49-run stand with skipper Rohit Sharma to steady the ship.

The former India captain was eventually dismissed by left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz for 34-ball 35 and his knock was studded with 3 fours and 1 six.
