Kuldeep Sen, a 25-year-old right-arm pacer, who plays for Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been called up as a net bowler for the Indian team for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 tournament which begins on August 27 in UAE.
The 15th edition of the tournament will be hosted in Dubai and Sharjah for the second consecutive time and will run from August 27- September 11. Rohit Sharma-led Indian team is set to lock horns with Babar Azam-led Pakistan team at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, August 28.
Kuldeep Sen will be one of the four net bowlers whose services the Indian team will have in the Asia Cup 2022 tournament and this will be the first time the pacer has gotten a chance to be in the company of the Indian team.
Kuldeep’s brother Jagdeep also confirmed to Dainik Bhaskar that the pacer received a call from the BCCI chief selector Chetan Sharma on August 22 and he was informed about his addition to the Indian contingent for the tournament.
Kuldeep Sen also posted a photo on his Instagram story with the caption “Next stop Dubai.”
Meanwhile, the right-arm pacer impressed one and all with his ability to bowl consistently at over 145 kmph in the IPL 2022 where he played for Rajasthan Royals after being bought in the auction for INR 20 lakhs. He picked up 8 wickets in the Indian Premier League 2022 for Rajasthan Royals in 7 games at an economy of 9.41 and an average of 29.6.
