Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim gave his take on India vs Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup 2022. He explained why the Rohit Sharma-led side will have an advantage over their arch-rivals in the tournament.

India and Pakistan are all set to clash with each other for the first time after the T20 World Cup 2021, where the Babar Azam-led side thumped the opposition by 10 wickets.

The battle between them has always been fiercest as both the teams have given their best and have left no stone unturned to defeat each other. Talking about Asia Cup, the Rohit-led side is leading the head-to-head record with a margin of 8-5.

With Shaheen Afridi not being there and the pitches being flat, Team India are likely to have an advantage over them. Also, the Men in Blue have lately adopted a fearless approach as they go after the bowlers from the outset.

This approach has seen them having huge success as they are yet to lose a T20I series since the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2021. With not much time remaining for the much-anticipated clash between them, many fans and pundits have started to predict the result.

Speaking to India News SportsSaba Karim said that India will have an advantage over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 as they are committed to the attacking brand of cricket.

He added that although Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has been in decent form in T20Is, their conservative approach will be a problem for them.

"If you look at the current form then definitely Babar has been playing games continuously and has had decent performances in T20s of late. The problem with Pakistan batting, however, is that they have a conservative approach, similar to what India had till last year,"

"So the advantage we have is that we have committed to an attacking brand of cricket. If Kohli joins the party and continues that approach at No.3, then it will be the icing on the cake for us going forward," Saba Karim said.

Both Pakistan and India have reached Dubai and have started their preparations for the tournament. Recently, a video of their training session went viral on the internet. Kohli was seen also in the video having light moments with Babar Azam.
