Pakistan cricket team on Saturday (20th August) suffered a massive blow as premier pacer Shaheen Afridi was ruled out of the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 and the home T20I series against England.

The left-arm pacer suffered a right knee ligament injury and was advised 4-6 weeks rest by the medical team. His absence will leave a massive void for Pakistan as they are all set to clash with arch-rivals on 28th August.

Shaheen rattled India’s top order last time the teams clashed with each other and no doubt it’ll be a great advantage for India, especially with their struggle against the left-arm pacers.

Former Pakistan pacer Waqar Younis also feels that Shaheen’s injury is a big relief for India’s top-order batters. Taking to his Twitter account he said:

“Shaheen’s injury Big relief for the Indian top order batsmen. Sad we won’t be seeing him in #AsiaCup2022 Get fit soon Champ @iShaheenAfridi,” Waqar Younis said.

However, Indian fans didn’t agree with Younis as they feel that his presence wouldn't have made much as much of a difference this time.

Here’s how they reacted:
