Ahead of the much-anticipated India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2022 on August 28 in Dubai, former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed claimed that the Men in Green have better knowledge of the UAE conditions and that it gives them an edge over the Men in Blue.

He further said that the Pakistan team’s morale will be high when they take on Team India, as they had thrashed them by 10 wickets at the same venue – Dubai International Stadium – in the T20 World Cup last year.

However, Sarfaraz admitted that India is playing good cricket, and the experience of playing IPL in the UAE will help them as well, but when it comes to the experience of playing the conditions in the UAE, Pakistan has the upper hand.

Sarfaraz Ahmed told Sports Paktv: “The first match of any tournament sets the tone of the campaign. Our first game is against India. Definitely, our morale would be higher because when we met the last time, Pakistan defeated India at the same venue.”

He also added that the Men in Green are also playing good cricket in the shorter format of the game, so Babar Azam and his team have a great chance to win the Asia Cup 2022 match on August 28 in Dubai.

He further added, “Pakistan knows the condition very well because we have played PSL here and many home series as well. Yes, India has played in IPL here but they don't have that much experience of playing in these conditions. It is important for Pakistan to have a fit Shaheen Shah Afridi.”

The veteran keeper signed off by saying, “If you look at their current team, they have been playing good cricket. But our team, especially in the shortest format, have been playing well.”
