WTC 2023 Final: Wasim Jaffer-Michael Vaughan engage in hilarious banter after Travis Head’s amazing ton

Travis Head ended day one of WTC final on 146* with Smith on 95* | GettyAustralia had an amazing outing on day 1 of the WTC 2023 Final against India as they posted 327/3 with Travis Head scoring a superb hundred and going back unbeaten with Steve Smith for company as India was bamboozled after wasting away a good start with the ball.

Rohit Sharma had won the toss and chosen to bowl first. India started well as hey picked the first three wickets for 76 runs with Usman Khawaja making 0, David Warner making 43, and Marnus Labuschagne scoring 26 runs.

But then, Travis Head with 146* and Steve Smith with 95* added 251 unbeaten runs for the fourth wicket as Australia ended day one on 327/3.  Head batted with a strike rate of 93.58.

For India Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur picked one wicket each.  

With Head becoming the first-ever batsman to score a century in the WTC final, he received some much deserved praise from former cricketers all across the world.

Indi's Wasim Jaffer too took to Twitter to praise Head after which Vaughan decided to take a sly dig at his friend.

Afternoon Wasim," wrote the ex-England Test skipper, with India under pressure in the game.

Wasim decided to take a dig of his own on Vaughan and pointed out to the England cricketer where did he lose his blue tick mark of verification.

Evening Michael, If that’s really you #WheresYourBlueTick," replied Jaffer to Vaughan.
