South Africa’s star speedster Kagiso Rabada said that he is not going to make any excuse for their embarrassing 6-wicket defeat in the opening Test of the ongoing three-match Test series against Australia at The Gabba on Sunday (December 18).

However, Rabada said that the current Test line-up of the South African team is quite inexperienced, and they need time to adapt to playing on the international stage.

Notably, South Africa was bowled out for 152 and 99 in their two innings, while Australia made 218 runs in their first innings before chasing the target of 34 runs for the loss of four wickets to win the first Test by 6 wickets at The Gabba in just two days.

After the match, Kagiso Rabada stated: “I've played in a team in a star-studded line-up, where you are literally playing with greats of the game. I don't think that happens quite frequently.”

The pacer continued, “Now, the situation that we're faced with, there's a whole lot of players who have come in, who have the ability but need to get used to the international circuit.”

Rabada signed off by saying, “There needs to be an element of patience and understanding but at the same time, you can't advocate for bad performances. However, we're quite positive.”

Notably, the second Test – Boxing Day Test – of the ongoing three-match Test series between Australia and South Africa will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from December 26.
