ENG v NZ 2022: WATCH- New Zealand's Neil Wagner engages with fans during first Test at Lord's

Wagner was left out of the NZ XI for the first Test at Lord's.

New Zealand pacer Neil Wagner was spotted engaging with the fans while proceedings were going on the opening day of the ongoing first Test against England at Lords on Friday, June 2.

The 36-year-old was not part of New Zealand’s playing XI for the ongoing opening Test of the three-match Test series against England at Lord’s. However, the pacer still managed to grab attention and win hearts with his kind gesture towards the fans at Lord’s.

In the viral video, the New Zealand pacer was seen engaging with the fans and even gifted a pair of pads to a spectator while the action continued at Lord’s cricket ground. Wagner was also seen signing autographs for a few sitting in the front row at the stadium.

Well, coming back to the match, in response to New Zealand’s 132, England were bowled out for just 141, with Zak Crawley (43) being the highest run-getter for the hosts. Tim Southee (4/55), Trent Boult (3/21), and Kyle Jamieson (2/20) were the standout performers for New Zealand.

At the time of writing this piece, in the second innings, New Zealand had already lost four wickets for 152 runs, with Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell reaching their half-centuries.
