After 'Rockstar' Ravindra Jadeja hit his second Test century during India's first Test against Sri Lanka in Mohali on Saturday (March 5), the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) posted an emotional tweet in Shane Warne's memory, after he passed away aged 52 on Friday.

Rajasthan Royals took to their official Twitter handle and wrote, "100* off 160. Rockstar Jadeja. You’ve made him proud."

Back in 2008, when the two were teammates with the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League's inaugural season, it was Warne who coined the term "Rockstar" for Jadeja.

Before the start of play on day two, a minute's silence was observed in honour of Australian greats Rod Marsh and Shane Warne, who both died on Friday.

Jadeja, who played for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League's inaugural season under Warne's captaincy, had also expressed his sorrow in a tweet.

"Absolutely shocked to hear about Shane Warne. A terrific statesman of our game. May God bless his soul and my condolences to his loved ones,” Jadeja tweeted.

"Then I didn’t know what rockstar meant. When I met Shane Warne for the first time, I didn’t know he was such a great bowler in Test cricket. He used to call me ‘rockstar’, and I used to wonder that I don’t sing any songs, nor do I do anything that I deserved to be called a rockstar," Jadeja had recalled his first reaction when he heard the "Rockstar".

"I just asked one of my friends why he is calling me a rockstar. He said that maybe because you put too much zinc on your face (smiles) I kept working hard on my game and kept improving my skills, whether it was bowling or batting,” the all-rounder previously said.

Jadeja eventually finished 175* as India declared their first innings at 574/8.
