England were successful in saving the fourth Ashes 2021-22 Test match on Sunday (January 9) in Sydney. The Test match ended in a draw as Australia couldn't take the last wicket of England, who were set a target of 388 runs to win.
The tourists started Day 5 with 30/0 on the scoreboard. Australia were in desperate need of wickets on the last day and that brought out an over-the-top appeal from Marnus Labuschagne.
It was Pat Cummins' over when the ball beat outside edge of Jos Buttler, but Labuschagne was convinced it was out. Australian wicket-keeper Alex Carey didn't bother to appeal and there was barely any shout from the slip fielders.
Labuschagne, on the other hand, couldn't stop appealing and he looked amazed after finding no support from other fielders. "Let's give Labuschagne an E for Effort on that appeal #Ashes," wrote Cricket.com.au while sharing the clip.
Eventually, Buttler was dismissed LBW by Cummins in the 85th over, and the Australia captain later dismissed Mark Wood in the same over. However, England denied a fourth consecutive win in the series for Australia.
