India's cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar reacted to the rare moment in the fourth Ashes 2021-22 Test on Friday (January 7). England all-rounder Ben Stokes was lucky to survive after the ball hit the stumps but bails didn't fall in the second session of Day 3.

England were 57/4 when the incident happened in Cameron Green's over. Stokes was given out LBW by the onfield umpire Paul Reiffel after a loud appeal from the Australian fielders.

Stokes decided to challenge the decision as he found it strange to be ruled out by LBW despite not coming in contact with the ball. However, there was a sound when the ball passed through him and the umpire thought it hit his pads.

The replay left the Aussies surprised after they saw the ball had hit the stumps and the bails remained unmoved. Stokes couldn't stop laughing at the incident and he went on to score 66 runs in the first innings.

Tagging Shane Warne, Tendulkar posted a tweet and wrote, "Should a law be introduced called ‘hitting the stumps’ after the ball has hit them but not dislodged the bails? What do you think guys? Let’s be fair to bowlers! ???????????? @shanewarne."

Apart from the Indian great, there were a few more tweets in reaction to the incident from renowned names in the cricket fraternity.
