West Indies beat Pakistan in a thrilling finish to the first Test played at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica. Chasing 168 to win in the fourth innings, West Indies got a poor start and were reduced to 16/3.
Jermaine Blackwood scored a half-century and pacer Kemar Roach scored an unbeaten 30 to take their team over the finish line with one wicket in hand. Kemar Roach walked out to bat when the score was 114/7 and put up important partnerships with Joshua de Silva and Jayden Seales.
Roach said that the innings was his best knock.
"By far. By far (the best innings with the bat). I have never been in a situation like that before. Batting with the tail, I am a part of the tail. For me, just go out there and believe, that was the biggest thing. Believe, stay positive,” Roach said to the broadcaster after the match.

Roach added that the focus was to play one ball at a time and not think too far ahead of the game.
“Bat each ball at a time. Our batting coach says, ‘Monty, one ball battles’. Just take on one ball at a time. At the end of the day, it came off and we won the Test match,” he said.
Roach hit Hasan Ali through the cover to finish the match.
