West Indies went 1-0 up in the two-Test series against Pakistan being played at Sabina Park, Jamaica, after clinching a thrilling one-wicket win over the tourists.
Kraigg Brathwaite led the West Indies team brilliantly, even scoring 97 in the first innings total of 253 in response to Babar Azam-led side’s score of 217. But Jayden Seales with 5/55 and Kemar Roach with 3/30 kept Pakistan to 203 in the second innings which meant West Indies needed 168 runs to win the Test.
However, Pakistani bowlers especially Shaheen Afridi (4/50) and Hassan Ali (3/37) made it difficult for the home side to cruise to a win. Jermaine Blackwood, the vice-captain starred with 55 while Kemar Roach held his nerves for 30* and took the team to a one-wicket thriller win in the end.
While it was ecstasy for one team, it was agony for another, and fans of Pakistan took to Twitter to express the hurt by the result.
