India captain Virat Kohli and veteran England pacer James Anderson were seen in a verbal battle on day 4 of the ongoing second Test match between the two sides at the Lord’s in London. India started the day two 27 runs behind England, who were bowled out for 391 on day 3.

India had made 364 in their first innings thanks to a century from KL Rahul and 83 from Rohit Sharma. In reply, Joe Root slammed 180*, while Jonny Bairstow made 57 and Rory Burns made 49.

For India, Mohammed Siraj picked 4/94 and Ishant Sharma picked 3/69. While for England, James Anderson had picked 5/62, while Ollie Robinson and Mark Wood had picked two wickets each.

In the India second innings, Anderson was making life hard for the Indian batsmen after Wood had accounted for both openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma. India captain Virat Kohli was caught on camera having a verbal bout with Anderson and many things were heard.

One can listen closely and hear Kohli telling Anderson, “this is a pitch and you are running here, this isn't your backyard.” Then on the next ball, as Anderson walks back and says something to Kohli, the India captain retorted, “Chirp, chirp and chirp. This is what old age makes you.”

In the India second innings, KL Rahul made just 5 runs, while Rohit fell for 21. And then Sam Curran accounted for Virat Kohli, who made 20 runs with 4 boundaries, lengthening the Indian captain’s poor run of form with the bat.  

Meanwhile, James Anderson's bowling partner Stuart Broad, who was ruled out of the India Test series due to an injury, reminded everyone that it was indeed Anderson's backyard, going by the Lord's honor's board. 

He tweeted, "The Lord’s honours board suggests it’s as close to Jimmy’s backyard as Jimmy’s actual backyard. Love the fire but that language will have him in trouble."

At Lunch, India was 56/3 with Rahane and Pujara at the crease. For England, Mark Wood and Sam Curran were the wicket-takers.
