Following Kyle Jamieson’s heroics in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021, former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar feels that New Zealand speedster will become the best all-rounder in the world in the near future.

Jamieson has had a terrific start to his Test career so far. In just 8 Tests, the lanky pacer has picked up 46 wickets to go with five five-wicket hauls and has an impressive average of 42.66 with the bat.

The all-rounder played a pivotal role in New Zealand’s journey in reaching the final of the WTC and in the final clash against India, he yet again impressed everyone as he returned with figures of 5/31 in the first innings and then later scored crucial 21 runs which helped New Zealand in taking a vital 32-run lead.

WTC 2021 Final: Virat Kohli is a world-class batsman, dismissing him twice was great, says Kyle Jamieson

In the second innings, Jamieson once again played a crucial role as he dismissed Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara in quick succession which changed the course of the game.

Batting great Sachin Tendulkar lauded New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson, saying that the lanky pacer will become one of the leading all-rounders in world cricket.

"Jamieson is a fantastic bowler and a utility all-rounder in the New Zealand team. He is going to become one of the leading all-rounders in world cricket. When I had seen him last year in New Zealand, he impressed me with both bat and ball," Sachin Tendulkar said in a video posted on his YouTube Channel.

Sachin Tendulkar further said that Kyle Jamieson is different from the likes of Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Neil Wagner as he likes to hit the deck hard. He pointed out that the pacer has few variations and he never looked out of the rhythm during the WTC final.

"He is a different bowler from Southee, Boult, Wagner and de Grandhomme. This guy likes to hit the deck hard and likes to move the ball off the seam, while the others try to swing the ball away towards the slips.

“There were a few variations where he angled his wrists and bowled a booming in-swinger. What I likes was his consistency and he never looked out of rhythm,” he added.

Kyle Jamieson was also awarded Player of the Match for his all-round performance in the World Test Championship final.
