Skipper Kane Williamson and veteran batsman Ross Taylor took their team home with their unbeaten knocks of 52* and 47* respectively after losing the openers early.

Thus, the Kiwi skipper talked about how satisfying to win the WTC final which was also the greatest memory of all the players’ careers in a video uploaded by New Zealand cricket on Twitter.

New Zealand made the most of their slender 32-run lead in the first innings as they bowled India out for just 170. The 30-year-old then pointed out how excited the players were even those who were on the sideline.

Yesterday was an amazing day to be a part of and the whole match really was so competitive as we were all expecting. Going down to wire into the final day all three results were possible. You saw the passion from all the guys on the sideline. It was nice to be out there with Ross and have that partnership,” Williamson signed off.
