Team India had yet another poor batting performance against New Zealand who won the inaugural World Test Championship by chasing India’s target of 139 runs on the sixth day at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
While India needed to bat well in the first hour of Day 6, New Zealand's star pacer Kyle Jamieson picked up the big wickets of Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara early in the day.
This brought the wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant into the middle and the southpaw went about with his usual batting style in the big final without giving much importance to the match situation.
He danced down the track to pacers, tried to play the scoop shot, and made batting look like an extension of a dance form on the pitch as he added 41 runs to the Indian total, which was the highest score for an Indian batsman in the second innings.
While Pant was playing his natural game he did not look like a conventional Test cricketer thus, the former England skipper Michael Vaughan took to Twitter and wrote that the left-hand explosive batsman is the favorite cricketer to watch at the moment.

Even though the conditions were the best to bat on as the sun was out and shining brightly through the day, Indian batsmen couldn’t get going.
Pant was dismissed off Boult as he tried to advance and hit one out of the park, and a fantastic catch by Henry Nicholls sent the wicket-keeper batsman packing, and soon India was bowled out for just 170 runs.
