WTC 2021 Final: Indian Cricket fraternity opine on India’s chances as New Zealand fold for 249 runs

India had made 217 in their first innings and Kiwis earned a 32-run lead.

New Zealand had resumed from 101/2 and then Kane Williamson led the way with a 177-ball 49 runs as he anchored one end. Tim Southee (30) and Kyle Jamieson (21) allowed themselves some fun and hit some lusty blows. Mohammad Shami picked 4/76, while Ishant Sharma got 3/48, while R Ashwin picked two wickets.

It was a brilliant display of concentration and application from Kane Williamson around whom the Kiwi innings revolved and the Indian cricket fraternity on Twitter applauded his and his team’s efforts to take a 32-run lead.

The fraternity also talked about what India needs to do in their second innings and whether they would be able to put New Zealand under any pressure with a considerable amount of time left in the match.
