Former England cricket Nasser Hussain was impressed by New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson for his bowling performance in the WTC 2021 Final against India and said that the fast bowler is going to be a superstar in the future.

Kyle Jamieson has played a pivotal role in New Zealand’s journey in reaching the WTC 2021 final. The 26-year-old lanky pacer has bagged five five-wicket hauls so far and is playing only his eighth Test match.

The Kiwi pacer continued his red hot form in the Test format as he returned with figures of 5/31 in the first innings of the WTC final. His five-wicket haul helped New Zealand shift the momentum towards themselves and bowl India out for 217 runs in the first innings.

In response to India’s first innings total of 217 runs, New Zealand ended day 3 on 101/2 with Indian bowlers struggling to find swing the same way Kiwi bowlers got.

Former England cricketer Nasser Hussain was impressed by Kyle Jamieson and said that fast bowler’s impact on international cricket is huge, pointing out that having five fifers in eight matches is a huge thing to have.

“His (Kyle Jamieson) impact on International cricket and his consistency is huge. He has played eight test matches and has already got five fifers. To have such an immediate impact is huge,” Nasser Hussain was quoted as saying by the ICC during the ongoing WTC final.

Nasser Hussain further said that Jamieson is a quick learner as he changed his line, lengths, and angles during the WTC final. He added that being a rookie and putting such a performance on the ultimate Test is impressive

“Jamieson came here, and he learned to bowl fuller. The way he has changed his angles during the match, it seems he is a quick learner. To come to this massive match, the ultimate Test as a novice and putting such a performance. He is going to be a superstar in the future,” he said.
