India and New Zealand will battle in the final of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (WTC) from Friday (June 18) at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton. New Zealand come into the grand finale as the number one ranked Test team in the world, having just displaced India from the top after defeating England 1-0 in the two-match series.
Both teams are led by exceptional batsmen in Kane Williamson and Virat Kohli, who go back a long way to the 2008 U-19 World Cup, where they led their respective teams. Kohli-led India clinched the title. The two apart from being very good friends, and wonderful players across all formats, are successful leaders too, but are yet to win the big one, an ICC trophy as captain.
The wait for at least one of the captains is set to end at Ageas Bowl, if weather permits and there is a result achieved during the course of five days or the extra sixth day if weather plays spoilsport. If no result is possible and the match ends in a draw, the teams will be awarded the ICC mace and prize money jointly.

A day ahead of the WTC final, Williamson and Kohli caught up with each other, for a photoshoot with the mace, even as the rain poured in at Ageas Bowl. Blackcaps' official Instagram page shared the video of the duo shaking hands and having a brief chat.
Blackcaps also posted few pictures of the captains on their Twitter. They wrote, "Photo time for the skippers means it’s nearly time to play! #WTC21".
