Former Indian skipper Virender Sehwag has lavished rich praise on Team India bowlers, saying that they are the main reason why Virat Kohli-led side is on top of the ladder in world cricket.
Be it spinners or pacers, the Indian bowling unit has been one of the most dominating attacks since the past few years.
The Indian bowling unit has drawn praises from the legends as well as fans of the game and is the main reason why Virat Kohli-led side have been able to put up strong performances on overseas tours in recent times.
With the ICC World Test Championship final, followed by the five-Test series against England around, Team India skipper Virat Kohli will be reliant on his bowlers to put on a great show.
With the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma, R Ashwin all available for the selection, Team India have a great chance to clinch the WTC final and Test series against England.
Lauding Team India’s bowling line-up as No.1, former Indian skipper Virender Sehwag said that bowlers are the main reason why Team India defeated Australia twice on the trot in their own backyard and are also playing WTC final.
"This team has a very good bowling line-up and that is why they have beaten Australia in Australia twice and now they are No.1 (currently No.2 in the latest ICC Rankings) and are also playing the World Test Championship final.
“There are a lot of batsmen who score runs, but cannot forget the bowlers who take 20 wickets and win games," Virender Sehwag told ANI.
Sehwag said with Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and R Ashwin all in the squad Virat Kohli led side has all the bases covered as they have quality pacers for seaming conditions and evenly matched spinners for spinning conditions.
"Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, R Ashwin. The Indian team has a very good bowling line-up and good balance. If the condition supports swing and seam, India has seam bowlers who can take advantage.
“If there is a spin on offer, they have Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin to take advantage. As a bowling unit, this bunch has done really well and I am confident they will do well in the final," he said.

Sehwag pointed out that bowlers deserve more credit than batsmen for Team India’s success over the past few years as 20 wickets are needed to win the Test match and they have done that in the last few years.
"The bowlers definitely deserve credit because you cannot be No.1 without balance. You have to have a good batting and bowling line-up. Credit goes more to the bowlers than the batsmen because you need 20 wickets to win a Test match and series.
“And that is what they have done in the last few years and that is why they are No.1 in Test cricket. Credit goes to bowling more," he concluded.
With all bowlers being in top form, it would be interesting to see what bowling combination Virat Kohli-led Team India will go ahead with in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand, starting 18th June.
