WTC 2021 Final: Kane Williamson says it would be cool walking out for the toss with Virat Kohli

The WTC will be played between New Zealand and India on 18th June.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson says that it would be cool walking out for the toss of ICC World Test Championship (WTC) with Indian skipper Virat Kohli. 

The excitement is building up for the final of ICC World Test Championship which is set to be played between India and New Zealand at Rose Bowl, Southampton between 18th to 22nd June. 

With less than two weeks remaining for the most awaited event, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson pointed out that they have played Team India in many different competitions and know them well. 

He however expressed his excitement saying that it would be cool walking out for the toss with Virat Kohli. 

"Yeah, hard case. Over the years, we have played against each other in so many different levels and competitions and have known each other fairly well. So, it will be quite cool walking out there, doing the toss, and having a bit of contact in the first Test Championship Final," Kane Williamson said in an ICC release.

Williamson admitted that Virat Kohli-led side has a great depth which everyone saw in Australia. He added that the Indian side posses a quality batting and bowling line-up and it is an exciting opportunity for them to be involved in final talking the best side on. 

"Yeah, they have got a fantastic attack. Brilliant, obviously a brilliant side. Throughout we have seen the depth they have as well, certainly saw that in Australia as well.

“A lot of strengths in their fast bowling and spin department. So yeah, a brilliant side, ranked right up the top, which is fair enough and an exciting opportunity for us to be involved in the final taking on the best," he said. 

New Zealand is currently playing two-Test series against England whole Team are undergoing practice sessions after reaching the UK on 2nd June.
