Team India came into the fourth Test at the Gabba with a string of injuries in their camp. Just when they thought it cannot get worse, Navdeep Saini held his groin in the 36th over of Australia's first innings and walked off with the physio.

A report later confirmed that he had a groin injury and would not be fit to bowl in the first innings of the match. The rest of the Indian bowlers missed his services as they bowled out the Australia for 369, a bit higher than what they would've thought midway into the innings.

The Indian physios are currently working hard with Navdeep Saini to get him fit before the second innings so that the team doesn't go through another innings with a bowler short. The difference of a Saini in the third innings here can well decide the fate of the series.

A BCCI source told ANI, "The medical team is working on Saini. He has a groin injury, but they are trying their best to ensure that he can take the field in the second innings."

He had bowled 7.5 overs by then including 2 maidens and had conceded 21 runs. The delivery that was his last, would've brought about the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne, who was batting on 37 then, had Ajinkya Rahane held onto the simple catch at gully. Labuschagne went on to score 108 and provided the much-needed impetus to the Australian side.
