The one-off Test between Australia and Afghanistan will be played in November next year, as per the agreement between the cricket boards of both countries.
In a statement, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed that the postponed Test against Australia will now be played in 2021.
The Test was originally slated to be held at Perth Stadium from November 21 this year. However, the global COVID-19 pandemic forced Cricket Australia (CA) to call off the fixture and stage it at a later date.
Having been granted Test status in 2017, Afghanistan has featured in four Tests so far, winning two of them against Ireland and Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Australia are currently hosting India in the four-match Test series. Tim Paine and company took a 1-0 lead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after defeating India by 8 wickets in the Day-Night Test at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday (December 19).
The second Test is scheduled to be played in Melbourne from December 26.
