Cricketers get a lavish stay on tours and they are provided the best possible facilities. But the case is different with the Pakistan cricket team on their England tour.
As per Cricket Pakistan claims, the team is staying in a three-star hotel because of the COVID-19 pandemic. They are forced to stay in a 'bio-secure environment' for safety purposes.
Pakistan cricket team has already spent 15 days in Worcester as a part of quarantine. They were not allowed to go out and the food was delivered on their respective floors. They went out only for outdoor practice sessions.
Now, even after arriving at Derby, they are staying in a three-star hotel in phase two of the tour. But now they are allowed to have a meal together as no guests are staying in the hotel.
They are also allowed other activities like playing indoor games but in their own rooms. The team will be staying in the city till 30th July.
There will be two four-day intra-squad matches for Pakistan; starting on July 17 and July 24. They have played two matches in Worcester to keep a check on fitness.
The three-match series between Pakistan and England will start on 5 August at Old Trafford. They will be traveling to Manchester on the 1st of August. The rest of the two matches will be played in Southampton. All the T20I matches are scheduled at Manchester.
All the touring teams will play matches at Southampton and Manchester only. England and Wales' Cricket Board (ECB) has made arrangements at these two venues.
