World's number two all-rounder Ben Stokes achieved a special milestone on the third day of the first Test against West Indies. The England stand-in captain completed 150 wickets in Test cricket.

It was the wicket of Alzarri Joseph which helped Stokes reach the landmark. He ended up with four wickets for 49 on Friday (July 10). Earlier in the first innings, the England stand-in captain played a knock of 43 runs, the highest for his side, and guided them to 204 runs.

Stokes is the second fastest and the sixth player overall to reach the feat of 150 wickets and 4000 runs. While Sir Gary Sobers took 63 Tests to reach the milestone, Stokes completed the achievement in 64 Tests to join the list with former England all-rounder Ian Botham.

ICC congratulated Stokes and mentioned his name in the list which includes the Windies great Sobers, former South African cricketer Jacques Kallis, India’s Kapil Dev, and ex-New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori.

Stokes is leading the English team in the first Test against West Indies in absence of Joe Root who is away due to the birth of his second child.
