Cricketers are known to be superstitious and if with a certain superstition, they have a really good day at the office, they are highly unlikely to change it.
England skipper Joe Root revealed one such superstition that he and Mark Wood followed which helped them win the recently concluded Test series against the Proteas.
While talking to media about this incident, Root said, “He’s brought me a big bill this weekend because he got five-for on the back of having room service in my room and so we’ve had to do it every night of the game since.”
“and he’s a typical northern lad,” he added suggesting that the order is quite big and that the bill is actually quite high.

After winning the Test series 3-1 at Johannesburg on Monday (27 January), the duo was asked about what did they have every day before the game to which they replied, “We can’t, the nutritionist might be here.”
“He’s been a good boy, he’s had spagbol (spaghetti bolognese),” said Root. “Maybe a burger,” added Wood.
The 29-year-old English skipper was then asked about the importance of having 30-year-old Wood in their side to which he replied, “He’s great for our dressing room, always full of energy.”
“When you’re looking for someone to pick the group up, he’s normally the man to say the right thing, or tell the wrong joke, that gets us in the right space to go out and deliver in these conditions. It’s great to see him back, enjoying his cricket and hitting a few sixes as well... which we’ve heard plenty about and I’m sure you have as well,” Root added.
