SA v ENG 2020: Faf du Plessis confirms return of Temba Bavuma at Wanderers

SA v ENG 2020: Faf du Plessis confirms return of Temba Bavuma at Wanderers

South Africa will look to save the series against England at home in final Test.

Temba Bavuma has been confirmed in South Africa's batting line up for the last Test match against England. He will replace Zubayr Hamza, skipper Faf du Plessis confirmed on Thursday (January 23).

South Africa will play Rassie van der Dussen up in the order, at number three, while Bavuma will be slotted at five for the Johannesburg Test.

Bavuma last played a Test match against India last year. He was out because of injury in the first Test but wasn't included in the side later because of his mediocre Test stats.

The 29-year-old recently played a 180-run knock for Lions in a four-day Franchise Series at Pietermaritzburg which somehow helped him to be in contention.

The home side hasn't taken a call on the replacement of banned South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada yet. The captain said they will announce it before the match. “We hear there might be a bit of rain around tomorrow, so we will make a call on that just before we start,” Du Plessis said at the pre-Test news conference.

Rabada was banned for one Test match after his celebration for Joe Root's wicket was found inappropriate. He was handed one demerit point and fined 15% of his match fee.
