NZ v IND 2020: Team India selection for New Zealand tour on Sunday, January 12

Hardik Pandya will most likely find a place in the team as Shaw and Dube are doubtful.

The Indian team for the New Zealand tour will be announced on Sunday, 12 January 2020 by the BCCI. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya is a confirmed addition to the squad, as per Mirror reports.

MSK Prasad has got an extension to his role as the national selector as the BCCI has not found new members from the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) to take up the role. He will be having a say in the Indian team for the New Zealand tour.

A meeting of the BCCI members will be held at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai on 14 January 2020 as most of the members will be present in Mumbai for the MAK Pataudi Lecture and the BCCI Awards.

NZ v IND 2020: Rohit Sharma ready for the New Zealand challenge as Test opener

As far as the squad is concerned, Hardik Pandya has regained full fitness and is expected to play for India against New Zealand. His inclusion in the India A side is a hint of things to come and he is almost sure to make a comeback.

If Pandya comes back, it may mean that the Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dube will have to make way for him.  Another player who might struggle to find a place in the side is Mumbaikar Prithvi Shaw, who is suffering from a shoulder injury that he picked up in a Ranji Trophy game last week. The youngster will be looked at for the two Tests.

If Shaw does not recover, KL Rahul or Shubman Gill might be kept in reserves as the third opener behind Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma.
