Thus, Australia is currently on the second spot in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) points table with 296 points to their name with two series wins and is just below team India who are at the top with 360 points in 7 matches with 3 series wins.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka are on the third and fourth spot respectively with 80 points and are just above New Zealand who have 60 points after two series.

Each series of the WTC is of 120 points, distributed evenly over the number of matches in a series. The points vary from 60 points for each match of a two-Test series to 24 for each match of a five-Test series.

The Proteas recently opened their WTC account and gained 30 points after they ended their five-match losing streak and handed England a 107-run loss at SuperSport Park in Centurion. England has 56 points to its name with 2 wins in 6 Test matches. West Indies and Bangladesh, on the other hand, have played 2 Test matches and are yet to open their account in the WTC.

The top two teams at the end of the league will play the final in England in June 2021 with the winner being crowned as the World Test Champion.
