AUS v NZ 2019-20: WATCH - Steve Smith takes a one-handed stunner in the slips to dismiss Williamson

Steve Smith once again brought his exceptional catching skills to the fore.

Australia’s batsman fantastic, Steve Smith, has once again grabbed eyeballs, but this time with a stunner in the slips. He dived to his right to take a one-handed catch to dismiss Williamson.

Australia finished with 416 runs on the board in the second session on Day 2 of the first Test. New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson had to come in to bat in the very first over of the innings as Tom Latham got out for a duck.

The other opener Jeet Raval soon followed him in the hut. Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor shared a 75-run partnership before the former was out to a stunning catch from Steve Smith. In the 23rd over of the innings, Starc ran in and bowled a short delivery to Williamson outside off.

Williamson tried to guide it towards the thirdman fence, and in the process, ended up giving an opportunity to Smith at second slip. He is a very sharp fielder in the slips and he proved it once again as he dived to his right and caught the ball in his fully stretched right hand.

By Stumps on Day 2, the Kiwis were reduced to 109/5 in 32 overs with veteran Ross Taylor still unbeaten on 66.
