India women wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh will miss the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand women due to her 12th board exams. Ghosh, who recently turned 21, has been a member of India's international teams since 2020 when she was 16.

Richa has played 23 ODIs for the Women in Blue and scored 481 runs at an average of 26.72. She has played 59 T20is for India and scored 879 runs.

Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the squad of 16 for the three one-day internationals in Ahmedabad on October 24, 27, and 29, whose captaincy has come under scrutiny following India's group-stage exit from the present T20 World Cup in the UAE. Their opening-game setback to New Zealand dealt significant damage to their season.

Seam-bowling allrounders Sayali Satghare and Saima Thakor received their first ODI call-ups, as did legspinner Priya Mishra and middle-order batter Tejal Hasabnis. Satare, Hasabnis and Mishra were part of the India A squad which toured Australia in August while Thakor was a travelling reserve for the T20 World Cup.

Apart from Richa, Asha Sobhana is ‘currently nursing an injury and was unavailable for selection’ as Pooja Vastrakar has been rested for the series.
