Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur highlighted the areas where her team needs to work on after they suffered a seven-wicket loss to Australia Women in the third and final T20I on January 9 in Mumbai.

With the defeat, India Women lost the home T20I series 2-1 to Australia. After the match, Kaur admitted that the Indian team needs to work on its fielding and fitness, as they dropped multiple catches in the T20I series against Australia.

Harmanpreet Kaur said in the post-match presentation ceremony: “As a team we have learnt a lot. Fielding is something we were not up to the mark and after this break, we will work on our fitness and fielding to come back stronger.”

The Indian skipper said that her team needs to step up in the limited-overs cricket. She noted: “The last month we played very good cricket. They (Australia) played white-ball cricket better than us.”

Kaur signed off by saying, “We know that we can take our time in red-ball cricket but we need to be on our toes in white-ball cricket. We always give them a fight, we were not going to give them anything easily, that is something I’m proud of my team. A lot to learn from them (Australia) as well.”
