The BCCI, on December 25, 2023, announced the Team India women’s squads for the upcoming 3-match ODI and 3-match T20I series against Australia at home. India already recorded a historic maiden Test win over Australia.
The three ODIs will be played from December 28 onwards at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The T20I series will be played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai from January 5 onwards. They will first face Australia in three ODIs, on December 28, December 30, and January 2. Then the focus will shift to T20Is on January 5, 7, and 9.
The T20I squad is similar to the one which lost to England 1-2 recently. However, many changes have been made to the ODI side, which last played against Bangladesh. Regulars like captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Sneh Rana, Pooja Vastrakar, and others figure in both the squads.
As many as eight players had gone out from the squad that toured Bangladesh in July when India last played ODIs, and six players - Richa Ghosh, Saika Ishaque, Shreyanka Patil, Mannat Kashyap, Renuka Thakur and Titas Sadhu - have come in.
They have come in for Uma Chhetry, Priya Punia, Devika Vaidya, Anjali Sarvani, B Anusha, Meghna Singh, Rashi Kanojiya, and Monica Patel.
