The Indian women's cricket team recorded a historic maiden Test victory over Australia by 8 wickets in Mumbai on Sunday (December 24).
On Day 4, Australia’s second innings folded for 261, setting an easy target of 75 runs for India. The hosts rode on Smriti Mandhana’s unbeaten 38 and contributions from Jemimah Rodrigues (12*) and Richa Ghosh (13) to get over the line in 18.4 overs.
After winning the one-off Test, Harmanpreet Kaur and her troops performed a lap of honour at the Wankhede Stadium.
Taking to social media platform X, the BCCI Women shared a video, in which Indian players can be seen walking around the ground and applauding the crowd for their continued support.

Coming to the match, India dominated the visitors right through the one-off Test. India bowled out Australia for 219 in the first innings before posting 406 runs on the board, taking a considerable lead of 187 runs.
Pooja Vastrakar (four wickets), Sneh Rana (three wickets) and Deepti Sharma (two wickets) ran through the Australian batting line-up in the first innings while Smriti Mandhana (74), Jemimah Rodrigues (73), and Deepti Sharma (78) drove India past the 400-run mark.
At stumps on Day 3, the Aussie women were 233/5 but Indian bowlers did a fabulous job to restrict them at 261. Sneh Rana picked four wickets in the second innings while Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Harmanpreet Kaur picked two scalps each. Pooja Vastrakar also claimed one wicket.
