WATCH- Harmanpreet Kaur accused of disrespecting Bangladesh team during photo-op; Smriti Mandhana retorts

Harmanpreet Kaur reportedly asked the umpires to join the photo in a sarcastic manner.

Harmanpreet seemingly signaled the umpires to join in as well | TwitterHarmanpreet Kaur, the Indian captain, has found herself in hotter water due to her antics in the recent third ODI against Bangladesh women which was played in Dhaka.

A video has been circulated online of Harmanpreet Kaur seemingly telling off the Bangladesh team during the photo session and continuing criticizing the umpires for their poor performance in the match which ended in a tie.

As per reports, Bangladesh media also accused Harmanpreet Kaur of disrespecting Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty before posing for the group photographs.

As per the same, before posing for the team photo after the post-match presentation, Harmanpreet asked the organizers to call the umpires for the photo as they were the reasons for the shared trophy.

Why you are only here? You haven't tied the match. The umpires did it for you. Call them up! We better have a photo with them as well,” Harmanpreet reportedly said.   

This led to the Bangladesh captain asking her team to leave the photo-op and they returned to the dressing room.

Meanwhile, India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana defended Harmanpreet and hit back at such reports.

"I don't think (she said this). You have stated it. I don't think she said anything to the Bangladesh captain. From whatever I heard, think talked a bit about umpiring. I don't think she said anything about them (the Bangladesh players).

We should not talk about things that did not happen during the match. In the post-match things were not camera, that is something which happened after the post-match presentation, so let's not talk about it," Mandhana said in the post-match conference.

Reports also stated that the Bangladesh board has notified the BCCI and ICC of the Indian captain’s behavior.
