Harmanpreet Kaur joins Trent Rockets, Southern Brave retain Smriti Mandhana for The Hundred 2023

The Hundred will begin on August 1,2023.

India women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur and her deputy Smriti Mandhana will be seen again setting The Hundred tournament on fire, which begins on August 1. The tournament saw the Women's draft for the first time. 

Harmanpreet, who was part of the Manchester Originals in the tournament last year, will now ply her trade for the Trent Rockets in The Hundred 2023. On the other hand, the Southern Brave retained Mandhana for the upcoming edition of the 100-ball tournament.

Harmanpreet and Mandhana both have been picked in the first round at a price of USD 31,250 in The Hundred Draft which was held for the first time for the women’s tournament on March 23.

Harmanpreet was among the players in the top bracket, along with Sophia Dunkley, Shabnim Ismail, Grace Harris, Heather Knight, Laura Wolvaardt, Sophie Ecclestone, Kate Cross, Alyssa Healy, Sophie Devine, Amy Jones, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Danielle Wyatt, Mandhana, Suzie Bates and Marizanne Kapp.

Meanwhile, in the Men's draft, Pakistan's Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf were picked up by Welsh Fire at the draft, while Pakistan captain Babar Azam, former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard and New Zealand left-arm pacer Trent Boult went undrafted.

Notably, the upcoming 2023 The Hundred will begin on August 1, with Trent Rockets taking on Southern Brave in the men’s and women’s competitions, respectively.
