The Indian women's cricket team suffered yet another setback ahead of their opening clash against Australia at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. Notably, the India squad for the Commonwealth Games 2022 trained at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Earlier, an unnamed Indian player tested positive for COVID-19 and it was confirmed by the BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly himself, and now the reports suggest that one more player is infected with the virus, resulting in the duo missing the flight for Birmingham.

Indian players have already left for the UK without these two players to take part in the Commonwealth Games 2022, where they will face Australia in their first match on July 29. Well, these two unnamed players are currently in isolation and will leave for the UK once they return negative for COVID.

It is being said that these two players are unlikely to feature in India’s CWG 2022 opener against Australia, but they can make it for their second match against arch-rivals Pakistan on July 31.
