Meg Lanning has reclaimed the no.1 rank in the Women’s T20I rankings, ending the reign of her countrymate Beth Mooney on July 26, 2022. This comes after her amazing outing in the recent tri-series also featuring Ireland and Pakistan.
Beth Mooney had occupied the no.1 spot first in January 2014. Except for two days in March 2014, she remained at the top until 18 November 2016.
Lanning has been at the top for a total of 1,020 days, only behind England's Charlotte Edwards (1,092) and Australia's Karen Rolton (1,085) in terms of days as No.1.
Lanning showed her class to finish as the leading run scorer with 113 runs from two innings for her country. Her best effort came against the Irish in Bready when she scored a quickfire 74 from just 49 deliveries to help Australia post a hefty total of 182/4 in yet another easy victory.

Tahlia McGrath had also scored 70 runs in the same game to win the Player of the Match award and as a result, has moved up 15 places to 13th while Rachael Haynes has advanced two places to 51st position.
Australia players to move up the rankings for bowlers include spinner Jess Jonassen (up four places to sixth) and medium-fast bowler Nicola Carey (up 20 places to 32nd).
South Africa trio Laura Wolvaardt (14th), Anne Bosch (21st), and Tazmin Brits (equal 24th) also made giant strides on the list for batters despite the Proteas' disappointing series loss to England away from home.
England crushed South Africa 3-0 and veteran pacer Katherine Brunt was the star performer, finishing as the joint leading wicket-taker for the series with five scalps and rose four spots to third on the rankings for bowlers behind England teammates Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn.
South Africa fast bowler Ayabonga Khaka's four wickets in the series have lifted her to the top 10 while Nonkululeko Mlaba's three wickets take her to 24th position.
