Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to bat first on a difficult-looking wicket. Jemimah Rodrigues top-scored with 36*, while Shafali Verma made 31 runs while opening the innings. Smriti Mandhana made 1 and S Meghana fell for a duck.  

Skipper Harmanpreet contributed 22 runs as India managed 138/6 in 20 overs.

For Sri Lanka, Inoka Ranaweera with 3/30 in 4 overs was their best bowler.

In reply, the Sri Lankan batters were put in pressure right from the start as Radha Yadav picked Chamari Athapaththu for 16 and Harshitha Madavi for 10 runs.

Kavisha Dilhari remained unbeaten on 47 with 6 fours and was the lone warrior for the home side as they couldn’t build any momentum in the chase and despite losing only 5 wickets, ended on 104 runs in 20 overs.

India won the match by 34 runs with Deepti Sharma, Pooja Vastrakar and Shafali Verma being the other wicket-takers. With this win, India women go 1-0 up in the series.
