The Women's T20 Challenge 2022 is currently underway with Velocity taking on the Supernovas in the second match of the tournament at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Tuesday (May 24).
It was Velocity spinner Maya Sonawane's debut match in the Women's T20 Challenge, but she managed to attract a lot of attention with her unique bowling action on social media.
Sonawane is an uncapped right-arm leg spinner from Maharashtra. She recently bagged two four-wicket hauls before finishing the senior women’s T20 tournament with 11 wickets in 8 games.
Velocity defeated Supernovas by 7 wickets in the second match of the ongoing Women's T20 Challenge 2022 on the back of brilliant fifties from Shafali Verma (51) and Laura Wolvaardt (51*).
However, Sonawane failed to take a single wicket in the match, as she conceded 19 runs in her 2 overs against Supernovas on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old leg-spinner’s head is extremely close to the ground while delivering the ball, and now her unique bowling action has gone viral on social media.
