CWC 2022: WATCH – Deandra Dottin grabs a one-handed screamer to dismiss Lauren Winfield Hill

West Indies defeated England by 7 runs to register their second successive win in the Women's World Cup.

Deandra Dottin's outstanding catch | ScreengrabApart from being a brilliant batter, West Indies opener Deandra Dottin is also a wonderful fielder. She gave a glimpse of her fielding brilliance during the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 match against England in Dunedin on Wednesday (March 9).  

It was the 9th over of England’s innings when Dottin pulled off a stunner to dismiss Lauren Winfield Hill on 12.

While facing Shamilia Connell, Winfield Hill look to take advantage of the room provided outside off-stump and played a cut shot towards point, where Deandra Dottin towards her left to grab a one-handed screamer.

Coming to the match, West Indies defeated England by seven runs to register their second successive victory in the tournament.

Opting to bat first, West Indies posted 225/6 in their 50 overs. Shemaine Campbelle was the top scorer with 66 while Chedean Nation (49) and Hayley Matthews (45) also made notable contributions with the bat.

In reply, England’s innings folded for 218 in 47.4 overs. Many England batters got starts but none of them failed to take the team over the line. Tammy Beaumont top-scored with 76-ball 46.

Shamilia Connell starred with the ball for West Indies, claiming three wickets for 38 runs in his 10 overs. Hayley Matthews (2-40) and Anisa Mohammed (2-24) also picked up two scalps each.
