Indian women’s team is all set for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup 2022. The tournament will begin from 4th March in New Zealand.
The Indian team will kick-start their campaign in a high octane clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on 6th March at Bay Oval, Tauranga. They will be next face hosts New Zealand on 10th March followed by West Indies on 12th March at Seddon Park, Hamilton.
The Mithali Raj-led side then will return to Bay Oval, Tauranga to face defending champions England on 16th March. They will then shift bases to Eden Park, Auckland to face Australia on 19th March followed by the match against Bangladesh at Hamilton on 22nd March. The Indian team will play their last league match against South Africa on 27th March at Christchurch.
Ahead of their tournament opener against Pakistan on Sunday (6th March), the Indian team had an official pre-tournament photoshoot. The Mithali Raj-led side looked in great spirits and there was lots of laughter among players.
However, the main highlight of their photoshoot was was a traditional “bhangra” dance step by Harmanpreet Kaur. The video starts with the Indian vice-captain doing the traditional dance step and also says “I only know this, wherever I go I do this” while doing the step.
