Netherland women's Frederique Overdijk becomes first bowler to take 7 wickets in a T20I

She earned the record against France women in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier.

Frederique Overdijk | Twitter Multiple records were broken on day one of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe qualifier held in Murcia, Spain. Netherlands’ Frederique Overdijk created history and became the first-ever cricketer, male or female, to claim seven wickets in an official T20I match. 

She ended up with figures of 4-2-3-7 against the French women team. The extraordinary spell restricted France to 33 runs in 17.3 overs. The Netherlands chased down the total in under four overs to register their first win of the day.

Earlier in the day, the Dutch lost to Scotland as they put up only 98 runs in their quota of 20 overs. Opener Sarah Bryce's 36-ball 46 ensured that Scotland won the match with more than three overs to spare.

In the second match of the day, Ireland’s Gaby Lewis smashed 105 runs off 60 balls against Germany, becoming the first Ireland woman to score a century. Chasing 197, Germany finished the innings at just 32/3 in 20 overs, losing by a massive 164 runs.
