India batter Jemimah Rodrigues who is a part of Northern Superchargers Women's team in the inaugural edition of ECB’s ‘The Hundred’ was praised all across the globe for her fantastic knock of 92 not-out off 43 deliveries against Welsh Fire Women at Headingley in Leeds.
Amid grabbing the headlines, Rodrigues had her ‘fan girl’ moment as the former England skipper and a fantastic right-hand batsman Kevin Pietersen hailed the Mumbai-based batter for her unbeaten knock and said, “Jemimah Rodrigues is now my favourite player,” on Twitter.
Have a look at Kevin Pietersen’s Tweet:
Jemimah Rodrigues is now my favourite player! ????#TheHundred— Kevin Pietersen???? (@KP24) July 24, 2021
After seeing the tweet, the 20-year-old came forward and mentioned that she had no clue as to what to or how to respond to a praise from someone she is a huge fan of herself. Rodrigues acknowledged Pietersen’s compliment and said that it meant a lot to her.
“I don’t know what to say. Fan girl moment for me. This means a lot coming from you KP, thank you,” the right-hand batter wrote while replying to the Englishman’s post on Twitter.
